These bags are made from used dialysis bags - for kidney treatments. In Thailand, more than a million dialysis bags are discarded every month. We give this waste a new purpose by transforming discarded bags into contemporary lifestyle accessories.
Working in partnership with a Thai university, we purchase dialysis bags directly from home-based patients who lack access to hospital treatment due to financial constraints. This approach not only reduces medical waste but also provides patients with vital financial support for their ongoing dialysis.
The transformation is carried out by a collective of elderly women artisans we have trained in Bangkok. With skill and care, they turn these once-disposable bags into durable, meaningful, and unique accessories creating livelihoods and fostering community.
The material is sterile, waterproof, and tougher than cow leather. Every piece in this collection is handmade and unique.
